Message from the Board
The Hospital Services Support Foundation (HSSF) was founded in 2019 through the collaborative efforts of Sri Lankan American professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the aim of enhancing healthcare quality for underprivileged communities in Sri Lanka. We are a group of committed volunteers who generously contribute our time and efforts to this cause.

Prabhath Silva
President
Prabhath was born and raised in Sri Lanka before moving to the United States in 2003, where he continued to build on his civil engineering background. He graduated from the University of Moratuwa and later pursued further studies at San Jose State University. Today, he works as a Professional Civil Engineer and Building Code Specialist, partnering with local cities and counties. His dedication to improving medical infrastructure in Sri Lanka inspired him to co-found HSSF, where he now plays an active role in driving the organization’s mission forward.
Manjula G Wickramaratne
Vice President
Manjula was born & raised in Sri Lanka. An Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering graduate of the University of Moratuwa, she came to the US in 1987 to pursue a MS in Computer Science from the University of Houston, Texas. Few years after graduation she moved to the Bay Area in 1992 and has since worked in a number of software companies. Currently, she is a Senior Software Engineer at Workday. She has always been interested in helping others, supporting under-privileged students in rural Sri Lanka. She feels this work with HSSF as a way of giving back to the country that raised her and at the same time uplifting the lives of those less fortunate.
Sunil S. Nethisinghe
Director
Sunil, born in Sri Lanka, graduated with Honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey, England. He began his career as an R&D engineer at Philips UK and was in the CD lab in the Netherlands. Later, he was expatriated to Japan, where he promoted the Compact Disc (CD) standard in Asia and became the General Manager of the Key Modules division. After relocating to Silicon Valley in 1993, he served as Director at NXP Semiconductors retired in 2007, and founded Tri-Cluster Consulting Inc. Sunil now focuses on community service and teaching Mindfulness Meditation. Since 2006, he has been an active member of the Cupertino Rotary Club, becoming a board member in 2018. He continues to support the Dharmapala Institute for Meditation and Research as a long-time board member.
Senaka Ranaweera
Director
Senaka was born and raised in Sri Lanka. After graduating from the University of Moratuwa with a BS in Engineering, he moved to the US in 1988 to pursue an MBA at California State University. Since then, he has built a successful career specializing in Business Analytics, Strategy, and Planning, holding key roles as a business planning manager with tech giants IBM, Compaq, and Hewlett Packard. Senaka actively engages in community service during his free time. He finds fulfillment in volunteering with HSSF, viewing it as an opportunity to give back to his homeland and positively impact the lives of underprivileged Sri Lankans.
Keshini Samerawickreme
Treasurer
Keshini is proud to call Sri Lanka as her beloved motherland. She migrated to the US in 1993. Keshini completed her bachelor’s and masters degree in Finance and International Business in the Bay Area and has been in the workforce for over 2 decades in various Finance, Accounting and Auditing capacities at banking institutions, PwC and a leading Bio-Tech company. Currently she is a passionate Product Manager at Workday for Financials. During her free time, Keshini pursues her lifelong interests in classical Sri Lankan and Indian dance, while learning new languages and getting back to mastering the piano. She decided to volunteer for HSSF because of her deep appreciation for its vision, her gratitude toward the volunteers and donors, and her satisfaction in the tangible immediate benefits the foundation brings to the under-privileged hospitals and patients in Sri Lanka.
Indika Walimuni
Secretary
Indika was born and raised in Sri Lanka. After graduating from the University of Peradeniya with a BS in Physics, he moved to the US in 2003 to pursue a PhD at the University of Houston. He now teach Computer Science at City College of San Francisco and Merritt college.
